All dogs called presas are invited, no matter who bred them, who they are registered with, or what club you belong to. Paperwork need not be presented to enter,  however the dog must be intact. This event is about learning about the breed from experienced Canarian and Spanish judges; Finding out if your dog "has what it takes" as well as seeing what's out there in this country. You will get exposure to different dogs, kennels and bloodlines, as well as exposure to what's possible for this breed.

All breeds are welcome to the working events and the CCF testing.

DO:

  • Be polite and pleasant to the staff
  • PICK UP AFTER  YOUR DOG IMMEDIATELY. Do not walk your dog without being prepared. Do not promise to "come back later" and pick it up. If this means you have to walk each dog separately, then do so.
  • Keep your dogs confined when in the hotel rooms. Bring a crate, and a blanket to put under it. Dog slobber and hair is not a joy to the cleaning staff, and garners complaints. Our show site has plenty of space, with some fields and a walking trail, so you can get your dog plenty of exercise there when not competing.
  • Do a final check of your room before leaving it to be sure there is no sign that a dog stayed there. This may mean wiping down walls and furniture.

DON'T:

  • Use ice buckets as dog bowls. Come prepared.
  • Use hotel towels on your dog. Bring your own
  • Leave a barky, defensive dog in your vehicle, and then park it right in front of the hotel. Find a quieter corner where everyone who walks by won't set the dog off, and make it bark at 1am, where everyone can hear it.
  • Gather in groups of people with dogs for  a chat. This makes the non-dog people staying at the hotel nervous. There is plenty of time and space to show off dogs and chat at the show site.
  • Leave your dog at the hotel unattended if there is the chance it will bark incessantly, and you have non-dog people around you.
  • DON'T ENGAGE IN AGITATION OR TRAINING IN THE HOTEL PARKING LOT. As mentioned, we have fields at the show site, and you are welcome to do that there, as long as it doesn't interfere or distract from the show.
  • Allow your dog to eliminate anywhere near the hotel building, especially near entrances. Take them farther away to the edge of the parking lots.
  • Try to smuggle dogs into your room without paying the pet fee for them. Someone WILL see you do this.

The end result is that bad behavior does not hurt our club per se, but it hurts all pet owners, and makes it harder to have events like this in the future. At this time, we are the ONLY club holding breed specific events like this, and you will NOT find another large gathering of so many different breeders and dogs anywhere on this continent. If you want to have events like this in the future, help us out. Our club does not HAVE to have this yearly event, but we like to. Bad behavior doesn't hurt our club, it hurts the breed in general.****
